Eldar vs Tau 1000 pts

Nesse fim de semana ocorreu, em Santa Cruz do Sul, o dia do jogo de mesa. Fui convidado para participar do evento e junto com o Luiz Felipe fizemos uma partida demonstração de Warhammer 40k. O evento foi organizado no Mosaico Café.

In this weekend happened in Santa Cruz do Sul the event Tabletop Day. I was invited to take part of this and together with Luiz Felipe we made a demonstration game of Wargammer 40k. The event was taken place in Mosaico Café.

Fazia algum tempo que queria colocar meus harlequins na mesa, e essa era uma boa chance, e minha lista foi a seguinte:

A missão era Emperor's Will

The mission was Emperor's Will

Eu ganhei a iniciativa, e fiz um deploy bem ofensivo, queria colocar logo os harlequins em combate! A minha idéia era forçar os tiros nos wraithlords.

I won the initiative, and I made a very offensive deploy, my idea was to put the harlequins in combat, and force my opponent to shoot at the wraithlords.

No primeiro turno consegui eliminar uma crisis suit com um tiro de brightlance e coloquei um wound no commander com os snipers.

In the first turn I one shooted a crisis suit with a brightlance shot and put a wound in the  commander.

 E as tropas avançam! Cometi um erro no meu deploy e os harlequins ficaram presos atras dos WL.

And the troops advance. I made a mistake in my deploy, and the harlequins where blocked by the slow advance of the WL.

Luiz estava com problemas tentando atirar nos WL, até agora tudo estava indo conforme planejado. Consegui eliminar o devilfish e a explosao eliminou quase todos os passageiros e alguns kroots azarados.

Luiz was having problems tryiing to shoot the WL, at this point, everything was according to the plan! I eliminated the devilfish and the explosion killed almost all the passengers and some unlucky kroots.

Entao algo inusitado, O commander resolve assaltar um dos wraithlords, e os fire warriors atiram nos dire avengers que avaçavam pela esquerda, e os harlequins subindo pelo centro. Os harlequins foram prontamente eliminados. Ouch. Os dire avenges conseguem assaltar os fire warriors dentro da construição, e elimina o squad.

And something unusual happened. THe Tau commander charged one of the wraithlords, and the fire dragons opened fire at the infantry. The harlequins where promptly eliminated. Ouch. The Dire avengers assaulted the fire warriors inside the building and eliminated them all.

 Os fire warriors que estavam nessa construção atira nos snipers e elimina outro squad. Esses caras estavam me dando trabalho!

The fire warriors in the other building shoot at the rangers and eliminated them. Those guys where giving me trouble.

A luta do wraithlord com o commander estava em um impasse, ele estava armado com uma onager gauntlet e shield drones, e ninguem estava conseguindo atingir seu alvo!

The fight between the WL and the commander was a stalemate. The commander was armed with an onager gauntlet and shield drones, and the hits where missing their marks.

 O Squad de dire avengers estava pronto para assaltar esse squad de fire warriors e o overwatch acabou com minhas tropas!! O Farseer for desintegrado com um tiro de railgun da broadside que estava proximo. Porém o exarca elimina 3 membros do squad, força o um morale test e elimina o warrior remanescente no sweeping advance.  No centro do campo de batalha, o wraithlord que estava livre elimina o squad de kroots com o lança chamas.

The dire avengers squand where ready to assault the FW and theyr overwatch killed almost everyone!!! The Farseer where desintegrated by a railgun shot from the broadside suit. The exarch survived and killed 3 warriors, forced a morale check and eliminated the last warrior by the sweeping advance. In the center of the field the free WL burned tho death the kroot squad.

Esses dois caras sofreram uma morte violenta e dolorosa para a realização dessa foto.

 O outro wraithlord assalta os fire warriors na construção, e rapidamente elimina todos eles. Squish! Agora Luiz não tem mais como capturar o objetivo.

The WL assaulted the fire warriors on the building, and quickly eliminated them all. Squish! Now Luiz dont have how to capture the objective.

Este é o final do quarto turno, eu tenho os dois wraithlords e um squad de rangers no predio verde.

This is the end of the 4th turn. I have 2 WL and a ranger squad at the green building.

 Assaltei o commander com o wraithlord livre. Vamos pegar esse cara bro!

I charged the commander with the free WL. Lets get him bro!

 E... o Wraithlord é socado na cara.

And the wraithlord was punched in the face.

Esse é o final do jogo, recuei os rangers para garantir o objetivo, e não consegui eliminar o commander. O resultado ficou assim:

And this is the end game, i retreat the ranges to capture the objective, and i didnt eliminated the commander. This was the match result:

Eu: Objective (3pts) + First Blood (1) = 4 ptos
Luiz Felipe: Slay the Warlord (1) = 1pto

Então, mais uma vitoria Eldar sobre os Tau do Luiz Felipe!

Eldar The Avatar of Khaine Finished

At the afternoon I finished this figure. The Avatar was the last eldar model in my collection, and now received his share of paint!

And my Eldar army is entirely done! I will do a post about it another time.

Another thing, I put some effort in making a base that my gaming club would like, now lets see the result.

Finished the figure tonight, and now i am working on the base. I think that this time I will make a base that thoesent look like that a lasy painter did it. And the guys from the club would like.

And now, the last figure in my Eldar collection that need some paint. Its a metal model that I bought some time ago. I prepared the figure and pinned it last week, and yesterday I made almost all the airbrush work. I will paint the cloth white using it.

Today, in my lunch time, I finished painting the bases of these figures.

 Im working in the last 7 figures from my eldar army that I will use on the tournament that our gaming club is organizing.

Almost finished them today, and I pretend to finish them tonight.

At the same time, im working in the Illic and the farseer.

Did almost everything with airbrush, the dark leather I used agrax earthshade.

I finished this model yesterday, I needed to paint the base.

I found those small plant that fit as a space agave (space tequila anyone?). Theres plenty more of those, so i will put them in some bases.

I painted this figure while i was painting my last wave serpent.

I finished the paintjob, now i will do the base and it's done.

Finally I finished this flying tank!!!! Fully magnetized!

I could have done some blacks on the fire painting, as Gereth sugested for me, but i will call it done.


My army eldar is almost finished, now i need to paint a Farseer, 5 rangers, Illic and the avatar. I pretend to assembre the farseer tonight.

3rd Eldar Wave Serpent WIP IV

After returning home, some of the miniatures got damaged and i repaired them this week. Now i bought some foam trays and i will manage to make a custom bag for them.


The miniatures on CPW where very coool and i was inspired to make mine better, adding some freehands to the wave serpents.

I searched the internet for inspiration and techniques, and decided to make a dragon on one tank and a hawk in the other. It proved to be a bad idea.

Heres, the sequence of the drawing, the eagle was turning ok, but when i put the details with the brush things went wrong.

Both freehands where crap. The hawk is so-so, and i keep it on the tank, but the dragon was very ugly. I Primed the wave serpent hull and painted it all again.

Still i needed some details to make it stand out. I tried the true fire effect, tested it in a piece of paper and I liked the result.Then i applied in the wave serpent.

Visiting Paulista's Wargaming Club (Clube Paulista de Wargames)

 Hi all!

This weekend I visited my friends at CPW (Paulista's wargaming club),  based on São Paulo's city. The guys from the club already visited us in Canoas and now i had the opportunity to return the visit.

After arriving, i met Estevão from The Painting Frog, had lunch and waited for Marcos, from Papo de Mesa Podcast. After Marcos arrive, we went straight to CPW's Headquarters.

There we met the rest of the guys, all members and founders of the club. They have their own wargaming room, with 4 official tables, a painting table and lockers and shelves for storing miniatures, terrain and accessories.

Me and Marcos played a 40k match, eldar vs ig (1850pts) with so many bad dice rolls that made justice of our reputation of poor dice rollers.

After that, we played an introdutory match of Mordheim, i played with a goblin warband, on the AMAZING table made by AJ.

The next day, we played an mordheim  mini campaign, that, again i rolled bad and lost all matches. At night we went to dinner in a Japanese restaurant.

On Sunday, we meet at the club, played some Zombicide,  packed my things and came back home.

Thank you for all CPW's members, and all the other guys who where there for the hospitality and the great time, and the hours spendt talking about small plastic soldiers and their epic battles!
